Upcoming artist ASHERAH is the electronic pop alias of Miami-based singer, songwriter, producer, and composer, Ariel Morer. Produced in collaboration with left-field electronic music composer, Medulasa, ASHERAH’s upcoming debut EP, Ephemeral, is a coalescence of unexpected creative forces telling a highly personal tale of the grief process, through shimmering echoic sound design and haunting vocals with nods to Purity Ring, Lights, and Grimes. Prior to rebranding as ASHERAH, Morer began working closely with Grammy producer David Ruttenberg in her teens and saw international success when she was featured on Platinum-selling DJ/producer Klaas’s “Lift Me Up” (2016), via Universal France and Warner Music Germany, making its way onto Apple Music Germany’s #1 Dance album later that year. Her subsequent work with local Miami electronic acts paved the way for her invitation to perform with them at festivals like III Points alongside preeminent artists such as M83, Flying Lotus, the late SOPHIE, Denzel Curry, and Oneohtrix Point Never, and led to her opening for acts like The Radio Dept. Fast forward to 2022, ASHERAH’s debut single, Holy, was released 1.28 and her subsequent EP, Ephemeral, is due out 3.11, with cover art by 3D artist Mea Adoryan. In addition to promoting her first official ASHERAH releases, Morer is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music at Berklee College of Music online and relocating to complete her degree at their Boston campus this fall. With the release of her single “Holy”, she presents a nostalgic sound that will surely grasp your ears. Starting with dreamy instrumentation leading onto her sweet and luscious vocals she completes the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it’s about addiction from two perspectives and the anger, grief, and hopelessness she felt in the aftermath of the loss of a friend. To the vocals and production, this single definitely holds a such euphoric energy that will truly have you vibing, and feeling like your transcending to a different place, I just personally love this single.
