Introducing Valère Géron currently based in Sweden, a 27-year-old born Dutchman. The origins of the artist date to Géron’s elementary years, when he started singing in the school choir and performing at family gatherings. Coming from a long line of singers, it was only a matter of time before he’d follow the same path. After a short stint apart from music, he rekindled his love for it after graduating high school and decided to move to London to pursue a career in music. It lead to several released featured singles after which he went back home to improve his songwriting. Growing up listening to jazz and soul singers, ska, hip-hop, and rock, Géron draws inspiration from a wide mix of influences. There are strong hints of Amy Winehouse but also of bands like The Gorillaz, The Police, The Beach Boys, and The Specials as the artist regularly flits between various genres. Following the release of his debut track “You Don’t Want My Heart,” he presents a stunning sound that will definitely grasp your ears. Beginning with bright instrumentation leading onto his sweet and smooth vocals he captures the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it paints a picture of a passionate but dire relationship that both people are better off without. He felt like expressing that last push you have to give when you’re at the end of the road with someone. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you dancing and possibly relating to the lyrics. It would be just great for a late-night drive or a day out on the beach.
