His mother raised him on soul classics like James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and Earth, Wind, and Fire, while he independently immersed himself in the indie of the day such as Radiohead, Arcade Fire, and Phoenix. Emotionally scarred forever by his conservatory experience, Tommy returned to the California Bay Area in 2017, where he gradually went completely off the rails over the course of about five years. He worked as an MC for Sofar Sounds and as a freelance trombonist with jazz, salsa, classical, and soul groups by night, selling that very same soul to corporate America by day. With the release of his debut single “Daydream Disco”, he presents a sensational sound that will surely intrigue your ears. Beginning with bright instrumentation leading onto his sweet and ear-catching vocals he completes the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it’s a dancefloor anthem for the burnout generation. It was written in the throes of a full-tilt identity crisis that blurred self-care with coping mechanisms and pitted extroversion against social anxiety in such force as to spin out into unhinged surrealism.
