Upcoming group known as Token Honey are on a mission to bring disco back to the forefront of the indie dance music scene. Combining their influences in 70s disco, 80s synthpop and modern R&B/soul, their vibrant, smooth sound delivers equal measures of funky grooves, silky synth lines, irresistible guitar riffs and catchy vocal melodies. Formed in Manchester, UK, Token Honey are Christophe Genol De La Ceaux (drums), Adam Josephs (bass), Connor O’Hara (keys/synths), Ollie Whittle (guitar) and Rob Hodge (vocals/guitar). Following the release of their newest single “Distance In Your Eyes” they project a vibrant sound that will surely grasp your attention. Beginning with bright instrumentation leading onto their sweet and luscious vocals they complete the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it represents the psychological shift that can occur in people after a relationship ends – that ‘rebound’ period in which a person often becomes more impulsive or indulgent than their previous self in a search for something to replace the person that they lost. To the vocals and production this single will defenitely have you dancing. Being just perfect for a day out on the beach or jamming out with some friends. Go stream “Distance In Your Eyes” and check out their discography which is filled with astounding music.
