Astounding artist Thea & The Wild is, first and foremost, a storyteller. She always has been, with a childhood spent between her mother’s “hippie flat in Oslo” frequented by painters, poets, and other budding bohèmes and summers on her father’s boat crewed by Swedish prog rockers. Up until recently, she was perhaps even more comfortable professing ‘storyteller’ than ‘songwriter’, having skipped formal music education and embracing a free-spirited, no-holds-barred approach to songwriting unaware of, and somewhat unconcerned with, the boundaries to both industry and artistry. With her debut as Thea & The Wild in 2014, she received brilliant response and acclaim and was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy in the Indie category. When her second album “Ikaros “was released in 2018, Rolling Stone Magazine highlighted it as one of 10 albums to stream. With the release of her newest single “Rip Tide”, she projects a sensational sound that will certainly grasp your ears. Beginning with vibrant instrumentation leading onto her full and bright vocals she completes the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it’s about letting go of the dark thoughts you’ve had and growing, finding a place of peace and happiness. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you vibing and possibly relating to the lyrics. Being just perfect for a drive during sunset or a day out on the beach. Go stream “Rip Tide” and check out her discography which is filled with amazing music.
