Introducing a talented trio known as SUM SUN comprised of Nick Benton, Eric Plummer, and Ilan Pomerance, the trio is making us all feel toasty with their rejuvenating blend of acoustic pop, indie, and energetic EDM. Together, they hope to revitalize the EDM genre by fusing it with the nostalgic Indie sound of the early 2000s. Their one-of-a-kind sound is highlighted by punchy guitar riffs, pulsating synths, big drums, and Benton’s buttery vocals. Before joining forces, the members of SUM SUN had their own musical endeavors. Benton was one-half of the reggae band Clear Conscience, whose debut album Native Jane reached number 6 on the Billboard Reggae Chart. Meanwhile, Plummer was deeply focused on his solo pop-driven EDM project, Pluma; and Pomerance was one-half of the DJ duo, PUCKER. Following the release of their newest single “Kids Again” they project a thrilling sound that will definitely captivate your attention. Beginning with bright instrumentation leading onto their vibrant and catchy vocals they complete the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it’s about remembering those times as a kid when you could enjoy the simplest things, being an adult isn’t as fun, but as a kid, all you wanted to be was an adult because ‘only the cops can ground us now’ (a line in the chorus). To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you jamming out. Being just perfect for a drive during sunset or hanging out with some friends. Go stream “Kids Again”.
