Upcoming artists Sly5thave and Denitia have come together to present an amazing single called “With You” (Remix By Ash Walker). Sly5thave is the project of multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and producer Sylvester Uzoma Onyejiaka II, whose sophisticated compositions are shaped by his faith in hip hop, and deep understanding of soul and jazz. Sly5thAve’s projects and accomplishments over the last few years include; the inception of the first orchestral concert dedicated to Dr Dre, playing saxophone with Prince, leading the ClubCassa Chamber Orchestra, and his revered co-reworking of Herbie Hancock’s classic ‘Headhunters LP’ which was debuted on Tru Thoughts in 2015. With a core underground following, Sly5thAve’s projects have been backed by Jarobi White (A Tribe Called Quest), Gilles Peterson (BBC 6Music), Downbeat magazine, Noisey, NPR, The Fader, Jazz Times, Indie Shuffle, Earmilk, and more. He has also attained much respect from his work with a host of highly- fêted musicians including; Prince, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Quantic, Taylor Swift, Janelle Monae, and Freddie Gibbs. As well as Denitia she is an indie-pop artist based in upstate New York. Hailed as “the epitome of soulful,” by The Fader, the singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist is known for her dreamy genre-melding solo project that expands upon her past work in indie r&b duo denitia and seen. A few years ago, Denitia moved out to The Rockaways, a quiet beach community at the outermost edge of NYC, and released a solo EP under her middle name, ADESUWA. She then found herself turning further inward for inspiration. A stepping stone to her re-emergence as a solo artist, Denitia dropped all the band names and aliases to continue recording and performing under her first name. Denitia released the Ceilings EP in Summer ’17, blending dream pop, electronic soundscapes, and her distinct, soulful vocals. Ceilings attracted acclaim from The Guardian, Village Voice, Pitchfork, Stereogum, and Afropunk for it’s bold, genre-melding sounds. With the release of their newest single “With You” (Remix By Ash Walker) they project a nostalgic sound that will surely captivate your attention. Starting with dreamy instrumentation leading onto Denitia’s sweet and soft vocals they complete the song entirely.
