Upcoming artist Nolo Grace is a very talented act I recently came across and her music is just so intoxicating that you will surely get grasped into. She is a Korean-American artist/producer who made her debut with “Wake Up,” featuring Sean Kingston. A native New Yorker, she moved to Los Angeles in 2017 after living around the world as a digital nomad. Her soulful, dreamy vocals weave into hip-hop influenced, experimental productions. Her thought-provoking lyrics reflect on her journey of spiritual development and growth. From a difficult and violent childhood to a career as a corporate executive on Wall Street and then to music, she draws on her unique perspective to reflect on loss, healing, and transformation. Her music can also be heard on Netflix’s “Bling Empire,” among other placements and industry collaborations as an artist, writer, and music producer. With the release of her newest track “Don’t Wanna Go Home”, she projects a profound sound that will definitely intrigue your ears. Starting the song with vibrant instrumentation leading onto her sweet and captivating vocals she completes the song entirely. Explaining the single further it’s inspired by the initial spark of meeting the love of her life the uncertainty and exhilaration of taking a chance with her heart. Three months later, as the pandemic was setting in and LA went on lockdown, they decided to get married. They got one of the last marriage licenses in LA County, after City Hall had already shut down. The song has a such thrilling feeling that will certainly have you dancing, to the vocals and production she presents a such passionate track that you wouldn’t want to miss out. She also made an amazing music video for this single directed by Erick Turcios, the cinematic music video was shot on 16mm film and is infused with Turcios’s nostalgic sensibilities and storytelling, which becomes an increasingly avant-garde spectacle as the storyline unfolds. The video recasts the theme of new love in a new context. We see Nolo Grace singing in iridescent white in a museum-like white room, an ethereal representation of longing and reflection. In a parallel storyline, we experience the chance encounter of two people at a laundromat that evolves into fantasy, play, and dance as the night unfolds. It would be just perfect for a late night drive or hanging with your lover. Go stream “Don’t Wanna Go Home”.
