Talented artist NEVE moved to reading from a small town in the North of Ireland called Holywood, for University. She found her way quickly into the pop music scene at Ealing Studios after years of studying musical theatre and enduring classical training in Ireland. It wasn’t long before NEVE discovered an ability she wasn’t aware she possessed in songwriting and began collaborating and writing songs for other artists while she worked to discover her own sound. Artists she has worked with range from DJs such as Joel Corry, Billented, and Mista Jam, to spice girl Mel C, Anne Marie, Nicole Schirzinger, Conor Maynard, HRVY, and up-and-coming girl band Real Like You. This allowed NEVE to enhance her songwriting skills, which became very beneficial to the development of her own project. NEVE’s influences have always been powerhouse pop female vocalists, mainly from the states. She is very vocal about her love for Katy Perry and Lady Gaga’s breakthrough eras, with ahead-of-their-time controversy through making pop culture bending statements within their lyrics. Sonically, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne, and Miley Cyrus have also played a major role in landing NEVE’s sound. Following the release of her newest single “Modern Romance”, she presents a thrilling sound that will certainly grasp your attention. Beginning with upbeat instrumentation leading onto her sweet and bright vocals she completes the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it was written after multiple conversations with male and female friends about how love and romance in 2022 are not the same as it was in the 60s and 70s. There is a decline in being committed to one person, going on dates, and the overall prospect of wooing a partner is slowly dying.
