KTEE has been on a relentless journey, following her passion for music from her tiny childhood room in Maria Neustift, Austria, to airwaves across the globe. Her story begins with that old red tape recorder, where countless pop songs were replayed and re-sung until she felt she had captured their essence. This DIY vocal training laid the groundwork for her future in music. After spending time in Ireland in 2007, KTEE discovered her talent for songwriting, an experience that reignited her drive to make it big in the industry.
Her single “Rollercoaster,” released in 2017, marked one of her earliest milestones, becoming a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC). The song’s metaphor of a relationship’s ups and downs struck a chord with listeners, and it became a stepping stone for her evolving sound. The following year, KTEE continued her upward trajectory with “So What,” a personal anthem of self-empowerment. This track resonated with those who’ve ever felt the weight of doubt, and its message was clear: do what you love and ignore the noise of the haters.
By 2019, her voice had reached more ears across Germany, England, and Switzerland with “Melody,” another ISC semi-finalist. The song’s clever use of music as a metaphor for love showcased her evolving songwriting style, blending catchiness with deeper layers of meaning. The same year, she released “Rich,” a lighthearted and uplifting tune about the wealth that comes from feeling alive. It was a refreshing shift, celebrating the value of life’s priceless moments rather than material wealth.
KTEE’s biggest breakthrough came with “Louder” in October 2019, earning airplay across multiple countries. As her music continued to evolve, she embraced a variety of styles and moods, including 2020’s breezy summer hit “Your Place” and 2021’s contrasting tracks “Push and Pull” and “Buried Alive.” The latter, a ballad, delved into darker emotions, highlighting KTEE’s versatility in both upbeat and introspective songwriting.
Her latest single, “Lazy Bitch,” adds a playful twist to her discography. While the word “bitch” typically carries a strong connotation, KTEE turns it on its head, using it in an affectionate and almost endearing way. There’s an effortless coolness to the track, reflecting the same sense of humor and self-awareness that has defined much of her career.
