Upcoming artist Just Super is a Los Angeles-based producer/bass player/engineer/songwriter/mediocre singer he is responsible for a genre he calls “emo jazz”; a fever dream of indie, progressive R&B, pop, jazz, and emo. Just Super is the frenzied alter ego of Geo Botelho, a Massachusetts truck driver and preschool teacher turned tortured artist. After years of playing bass in punk bands in high school, Just Super went on to leave the family excavation business to pursue a career in music by attending Berklee College of Music. There, in Boston, he would pick up a degree in Music Production & Engineering along with an infinite love of jazz and an infinite pit of debt. Once he graduated, he moved to Los Angeles and began releasing music under the moniker GEO in 2017; a mostly instrumental-based project where he explored his creativity as a producer and songwriter. Just Super would go on to release 10 songs under his moniker GEO gaining millions of listens and a few DM’s here and there. His own projects aside, as an engineer he has worked with the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, MUNA, AlunaGeorge (kinda), Eric Nam, Zoe Wees, and Katie Gavin. Presently, when he’s not touring with MUNA, he is reading Vonnegut or reminiscing about that one time when he met The Rock. Just Super is excited for you to get to know him and bring you into his frenetic brain with his debut record Not Much, But All I Think About. With the release of his newest single “My Name,” he presents a dreamy sound that will definitely captivate your attention. Starting with groovy instrumentation leading onto his smooth and lively vocals he completes the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it’s a conversation between him and a long-lost friend, being his friend is a dog that he lost from a failed romantic relationship, having shared experiences with him, he sometimes wonders if he even knows his name theoretically speaking.
