Upcoming artist Joey Golden is a rap recording artist residing from the Long Island City section of Queens, NY. He got his start recording and performing with Operation Industry Shut Down (O.I.S.D.). The group was made up of a collection of friends that attended the same high school he did. From 2008 – 2011, they performed at various venues in New York City and dropped an LP & EP (’09 & ’11) respectively. In 2012, the members went separate ways in pursuit of their career and personal aspirations in and outside of music. Joey would go on to release his then self-titled “J.ManifestO” mixtape. It was featured on rap blogs 2Dopeboyz, Okayplayer, and the now-defunct Kevin Nottingham. In 2013, he would follow up with the LP Vicariously Through Memories. The project was preceded by the lead single, “Live Life & Love It” and the follow-up “Dreams”. 2014, sparked two collaborations by way of EP. With the release of his newest track “FTW CALM,” he presents a booming sound that will definitely captivate your attention. Beginning with upbeat instrumentation leading onto his bold and catchy vocals he completes the track fully. Explaining the song a bit further it’s about straight hustling and not worrying about what anyone else is doing, getting money, and staying elevated.
