Upcoming duo Greek Brothers was the name given to brothers, Ed and Alex by the locals of the north London neighborhood where they grew up. Working after school in the kitchen of their family-run Greek restaurant, they started out performing to customers after the last orders had been served. The sets would reflect the tastes of the varied audience resulting in a mix of old rock & roll, Greek folk, and the British chart hits of the day. The brothers developed later their act into a successful 4-piece function band playing venues across the UK and overseas, specializing in Greek folk music. Now in 2022, they are set to release their original songs for the first time; a unique fusion of the nineties pop/rock and old Greek folk that captures their varied musical upbringing. With the release of their newest single “Sotomayor” feat. Dánico they project an outstanding sound that will certainly intrigue your ears. Starting with tropical instrumentation leading onto their sweet and catchy vocals they capture the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it’s named after their nineties childhood sports hero, Felix Sotomayor, who holds the world record for the men’s high jump. They wanted to make a song that was a fun homage to Cuba drawing on all of its stereotypes. Whilst many of us have never been to Cuba and don’t know much about the country beyond the cigars and the rum, it’s a place that has captured people’s imagination in a very unique way, giving rise to the “Cuban state of mind”. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you dancing. Being just perfect for a day out on the beach or jamming out with some friends. Go stream “Sotomayor” feat. Dánico and be on the lookout for new music from this amazing duo.
