Amazing duo Gold Spectacles are a London-based act that makes baroque-pop music. Drawing on an eclectic range of influences from Paul Simon to Phoenix to Lykke Li, their sonic palette toes the line between electronic and organic landscapes, blending the two parallels. Their 2019 eponymous debut album was well received, achieving notable Spotify playlists (including Chill Vibes, All New Indie, and New Music Friday UK), gathering support from radio (including BBC 6 Music, KCRW, Amazing Radio, CISM 89.3) and blogs (including Indie Shuffle, EARMILK, Hillydilly, Line of Best Fit). This support has led the duo to the top of the Hype Machine on multiple occasions. During lockdown, the duo kickstarted their writing and production career landing cuts with Mysie (Ivor Novello Winner), Fraser T Smith (Adele, Stormzy, Easy Life), NOEP (EMA winner), and SOFY (BBC Introducing Live Lounge runner-up). With two tracks being selected as BBC Radio One’s “Track of the Week” and their current roster of artists playing a host of festivals this summer (including Glastonbury Festival, Isle of Wight Festival, Latitude Festival, and Knebworth) 2022 has been a breakout year for the pair as writer/producers. With the release of their newest single “Social Graces,” they present a dazzling sound that will certainly grasp your attention. Starting with bright instrumentation leading onto their smooth and ear-catching vocals they complete the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it delves into themes of escapism, social awkwardness, and an inability to say how you really feel. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you vibing and singing along to the lyrics. Being just great for a drive during sunset or while having a picnic. Go stream “Social Graces” and check out their discography which is filled with astounding tracks.
