Meet LIINKS, a Canadian duo made up of Georgia and Tony, who make “saddest bangers daily.” Their heavy-hitting beats, heart-crushing melodies, and painfully revealing lyrics have earned them hit songs on CHR radio, collaborations with Travis Barker and The Funk Hunters, and a recent placement on the upcoming The D’Amelio Show starring TikTok personality Charli D’Amelio. The duo writes and records all their own music, with both Georgia and Tony sharing production and writing duties. Their unique sound combines electronic and pop sensibilities in a fresh and especially moving way, creating a new West Coast Canadian sound. Despite facing adversity early on in their career, including having a demo stolen and released by a K-pop star, and a publishing deal falling through, LIINKS has continued to persevere and create. As COVID-19 put the world on hold and canceled their plans to return to the US for music work, they turned their apartment into a studio and began working virtually with artists from all over the world. They were even invited by Universal Music Publishing to participate in their first-ever virtual sync writing camp, and recently attended a Grammy-sponsored writing camp based out of New York, all from the comfort of their home in Victoria. Their debut album, Ridge Road, was released in 2018 on Westwood Recordings. Since then, they have had feature releases with the Tiesto remix winner Sparkee and bass monster Ahee, and have also produced and co-written songs for up-and-coming artists Lilianna Wilde and xoxoMyah. Their latest single “Games” is a slower-tempo electronic pop track that showcases Georgia’s nuanced vocal performance and conveys vulnerability that builds to passion as bittersweet lyrics take the spotlight against soft production shades.
