M’Lynn, a singer-songwriter and pianist from Dallas, Texas, has been captivating audiences with her soulful music since her career began at the tender age of 15. A product of Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, she follows in the footsteps of distinguished alumni like Norah Jones, Erykah Badu, and Roy Hargrove. Immersed in an environment brimming with talent, M’Lynn honed her craft alongside her gifted peers until she felt ready to share her music with the world.
In 2017, M’Lynn, along with producers Bradly Prakope and Josh Goode, traveled to LA to record her debut EP, “Grounding,” at 64Sound Studios. The release of this EP marked the beginning of M’Lynn’s rise in the music scene, earning her recognition both locally in Dallas and internationally. Her song “Just Take Time” was ranked #2 of 2018 by Mi-Soul Radio in London, and “Gave All My Love Away” gained popularity in France. Her subsequent singles “T.F.I.L.” and “Paralyzed,” recorded in the summer of 2018 and released in early 2019, further solidified her presence in the music industry.
Growing up in a musical family, M’Lynn began writing music at the age of 12. This creative outlet allowed her to navigate the complexities of adolescence and better understand the world around her. Music became a source of solace and purpose, especially during her struggles with mental health. M’Lynn believes that her intense emotions and introspective outlook on life serve to fuel her creativity, affirming that she was born for music.
