Introducing a talented act known as Ciao Lucifer in their new music, the indie pop duo have decided it’s time to accept their manhood. High school friends Marnix Dorrestein and Willem Wits sing “It’s too late to die young”, but if they’re going to grow up, they want to do it in their own way. “Our biggest fear is becoming Don Draper,” says Marnix, “we want to learn to talk openly about our emotions, dreams, and needs.” In their new songs, they describe the kind of grown-ups they want to become. Willem: “Strong and vulnerable, compassionate and independent, reliable and adventurous. All at once.” They went through an obsessive recording process but the result is cheerful and energetic. If you listen more closely you’ll hear how they have woven their demons into the songs. Marnix explains: “We don’t feel too cool to be a ‘feel good band’, but actually we sing about very personal things. If the end result is that we make people happy and can make them dance, it’s mission accomplished.” Following the release of their newest single “Dream”, they present a sizzling sound that will certainly intrigue your attention. Beginning with bright instrumentation leading onto their sweet and ear-catching vocals they complete the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it’s about their quest to talk about how they feel without judging what caused it. About struggles of modern manhood, such as exploring sexuality without objectifying the other. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you vibing and singing along to the lyrics. Being just perfect for a drive during sunset or a day out on the beach. Go stream “Dream” and check out their discography which is filled with amazing music.
