Champion The Boy, the electronic producer also known as Ira Gontcharov, is known for creating big, bouncy pop bops. Born in Ukraine and raised in Australia, Gontcharov has supported artists such as Touch Sensitive, Mickey Kojak, Matthew Young, Nyxen, and Telenova, and has had a standout performance at Yours & Owls Festival in 2021. Gontcharov’s debut single “Take You There” was featured in Kid Mac’s film “Six Festivals,” alongside Hockey Dad, Dune Rats, Ruby Fields, and more. Gontcharov’s newest single, “Uber King,” is an ode to Uber drivers everywhere. The song celebrates the essential role that these drivers play in getting us home safely after a night out, providing us with much-needed hydration and even an occasional sick bag.
