Upcoming artist Cade Hoppe is originally hailing from Sacramento, CA, and is now based in New York, Cade Hoppe originally moved to the East Coast to pursue his academic and athletic dreams. He’d learned to play piano, guitar, bass, and saxophone over the course of his childhood, but it wasn’t until 2020 that Cade started to explore the possibility of writing and releasing his own songs. After putting out a few experimental releases with his stepbrother, Nick Adams, he connected with producer Harper James — one half of Eighty Ninety — and began to develop his indie-pop sound. Imagine if The National made a Taylor Swift record endorsed by Chris Martin, Jack Antonoff, and Ben Folds—now you essentially have a Cade Hoppe record. But no matter whose music inspires comparison, the 22-year-old artist sets himself apart from others in the pop landscape with his warm, baritone vocals, earnest lyricism, and sticky pop melodies. He ended last year with the release of his debut EP, ‘Tell Me How It’s Worth It,’ and is now preparing for a new year filled with even more music. With his steadfast determination and undeniable talent, Cade is well on his way to becoming an indie-pop mainstay. Following the release of his newest single “Everything That’s Wrong with You,” he projects a sizzling sound that will definitely intrigue your ears. Beginning with bright instrumentation leading onto his sweet and full vocals he completes the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it’s about finding yourself and choosing the version of you that makes you happiest over the version of you that pleases others. It might feel like the world is ending when the people that are supposed to love you unconditionally don’t approve of who you’re becoming, but then again, I think that says a lot more about them than it does about you. To the vocals and production, this single will certainly have you jamming out and even possibly singing along to the lyrics.
