Bite The Boxer started releasing music on the blossoming synthwave scene in 2020 but has since made an impact with songs that are stylistically closer to dream pop, trip-hop, and ambient lo-fi. Taking inspiration from his background in a wealth of previous music projects which range from acoustic songwriter to indie rock and metal, Bite The Boxer (aka Matt Park) has a sound that has encapsulated not just the casual listener but also the music press and local, national and international radio stations across the world. Following the release of his newest single “Forgotten,” he presents a nostalgic sound that will definitely captivate your ears. Starting with soothing instrumentation leading onto dreamy and sultry vocals he completes the track fully. Explaining the song a bit further “Forgotten” was partly written and produced live on Twitch. It was also written, primarily, very shortly after that EP giving it a sound that is consistent with that release. It was, however, as the name suggests, forgotten when it was accidentally saved in the wrong folder and then assumed lost until around 4 months later when it was found by chance and finished using a fresh set of ears and some new ideas. Inspiration for the tone of the song comes from dream pop and downtempo artists such as The XX, Bonobo, Royksopp, Aurora, and The National. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you vibing. It would be just great for a late-night drive or hanging out with friends. Go stream “Forgotten” and check out his discography which is filled with outstanding tracks.
