Upcoming artist AMAVA aka Madison Slicker is a vibrant 25-year-old who grew up in the sheets of rain of the Pacific Northwest. Born in San Francisco, Amava’s family made the move to Central Oregon for a quieter, slower lifestyle. Amava was introduced to the Americana Project, a program for developing young artists and songwriters from Elementary to High School. Through the Americana Project, Amava began to grow a love of songwriting at the young age of 10, writing folk music on her left-handed guitar and performing in local festivals. Amava’s earliest influences stemmed from her family’s love of Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, and Norah Jones, and pulling from her small town’s folk music roots, she penned about 100 songs a year for her school program. As Amava entered high school, she began to entertain the idea of traveling to Nashville, TN to write and to become acquainted with the music scene there. After making the move to Nashville, her music style began to shift towards pop music as she began to discover the many female powerhouse pop artists that graced the internet. Amava released her first single “Blush” in March 2018, while she was splitting her time between Los Angeles and Nashville to write. She cites the incredible women in the pop and indie music sphere as her inspiration, such as Charli XCX, Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, Lorde, and the women around her in the local pop scenes. Following the release of her newest single “Muse”, she projects a sparkling sound that will certainly intrigue your ears.
