Alexandra John Introduces Their Marvelous Track “Lock Me Down”

Astounding duo Alexandra John was raised in a household of rhythm and rhyme, Liza and Weston share melodies that are a language of a family collective. Born on April 18th, 1996, at San Francisco’s Kaiser Hospital, brother and sister would spark a bond of passion that little did they know would carry them through life. Weston, a seasoned musician, has been playing the drums, guitar, and piano since his years in grade school. Liza, raised on the keys of the piano, has always loved to sing and spent her youth dancing and acting in the performing arts. Together, the twins have worked in tandem to create music that inspires and illuminates the soul. When COVID-19 struck, both were sequestered at their mom’s house in Sonoma, California. In between working her New York-based job and the hours he spent on his higher education, Liza and Weston spent their free time teaming up to concoct new compositions of music. Not a stranger to the business, Liza’s mother, Liz, encouraged her saying, “Of course you can write lyrics, honey. It’s all about letting yourself go to that special place.” Once the two opened the gates, words and music flooded pages and audio files forming an incomparable collaboration. With the release of their newest single “Lock Me Down,” they present a captivating sound that will definitely intrigue your ears. Starting with sizzling instrumentation leading onto Liza’s bright and ear-catching vocals they complete the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it’s about the disposable climate of modern-day dating. Especially with commitment in relationships and having the power not to settle for anything, and have that special someone choose you. Dating apps are good and bad, especially with the endless options of people and sometimes people feel overwhelmed and or scared to commit. At the end of the day, it seems we all want what we can’t have and people tend to not know what it is they really want to begin with. In the context of this song, one side knows that they want to take the relationship to the next level and the other not knowing at all. Many tend to drag out relationships this way and Lock Me Down is about giving that other person an ultimatum and acknowledging the other person isn’t going to wait around forever.
