Upcoming artist Agnès Aokky is one of those artists who overturns the codes of French pop. She first started on the other side of the fence as a columnist-host at Radio Nova, today she mixes in every sense of the word as an author, performer & DJ, sometimes resident at Rosa Bonheur, and sometimes DJ in electronic music clubs. After many collaborations & features, it is today in instrumentations at the same time pop, dream pop, electronic, and sometimes even experimental that the frank prose of Agnès Aokky moves. Largely inspired by automatic writing, her lyrics, whose writing is poetic, echo fascination as well as disillusionment, dreams as well as a vague soul. After a first track untitled “Blue Dreams” – released on the French scene’s pioneering label La Souterraine – and a remix released on her own label Zazou Records. With the release of her newest track “Vertige à la plage”, she projects a nostalgic sound that will definitely grasp your ears. Beginning with dreamy instrumentation leading onto her sultry and luscious vocals she captures the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it tells of an obsessive phantasmagoria, a troubling sapphic plea. With sensual voice and a bewitching melody, it is the perfect combo that announces a particularly suave summer. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you vibing.
