Introducing an amazing band known as Elbé they are the brainchild of singer-songwriter Seamus Allen and the perfect vehicle for his indie songs that are blended with folk, traditional music, and pop elements. Nora Frederich’s intuitive, groove-based drumming and Kieran Fitzgerald’s melodic and nifty bass lines make up a strong rhythm section. Emily Naughton is a vastly experienced key player; her creative melodies dance in and out, adding color to the songs. Songwriter Seamus Allen takes inspiration from real-life experiences and day-to-day events he witnesses in his life. In an attempt to make these relatable and give meaning to the listener, he describes events in a metaphorical and poetic way. Elbé released their debut EP “Contours” in May 2019. Since then the band has played gigs around Ireland and worked with local producer and engineer Christian Best (Mick Flannery, O Emperor, Paddy Dennehy, BRIARS). The first release of this collaboration was released in October 2020 and gained attention from BBC Introducing, FM104, RedFM, and 98FM. elbé’s latest singles have been played on BBC Ulster, Classic Hits FM, KCLR 96fm, 98fm, and Radio Nova and were added to Goldenplec’s New Irish Music playlist. The band released their EP “Sonder” on the 29th of October 2021 and has plenty more songs ready for 2022!. With the release of their newest single “Over The Bridge” they present a captivating sound that will certainly grasp your ears. Starting with dreamy instrumentation leading onto Seamus’s sweet and luscious vocals they complete the track fully. Explaining the song a bit further its lyrics try to encapsulate the scenes of Dublin City on a busy Saturday night and what he witnessed. Fusing these scenes with memories of youth and first independence created imagined storylines for the characters passing by. Themes of first love, temptation, and hope are explored against the backdrop of the dangers of real life and its consequences. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you dancing and singing along to the lyrics. It would be just perfect for a drive during sunset or a day out on the beach.
