Talented artist Barbara Teresa was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, with Colombian and Chilean roots, Barbara Teresa attended an American international school and grew up listening to Elton John, Billy Joel, ABBA, and Queen albums that her dad played in the car. She began taking piano lessons as a child, and besides playing classical pieces, she loved learning songs from popular artists and bands like One Direction and Avril Lavigne. “I was 15 when I finally got my dad to buy me a guitar,” she laughs. “I had been wanting to play one since I was like six years old. Taylor Swift has been my idol for as long as I can remember little me loved that it was always her and her guitar on stage.” Barbara Teresa is a student at Duke University. She grew up between Caracas and Los Angeles, but her South American heritage is a quintessential part of her artistic persona. She recently finished recording a batch of Spanish-language songs with acclaimed producer and hitmaker Claudia Brant, who has worked with Camila Cabello, JLO, Becky G, Luis Fonsi, Barbra Streisand, Ricky Martin, and Carlos Santana, among others, finding new inspiration to create and share even more candid art about her life. Following the release of her newest single “Real Life”, she presents a dreamy sound that will certainly captivate your ears. Beginning with bubbly instrumentation leading onto her sweet and luscious vocals she completes the song fully.
