Introducing DUDE, MY DUDE they are an alternative rock band that blends its founders’ indie pop and emo rock sensibilities to form both confessional and uplifting anthemic songs. This effortless synergy is apparent in their debut single ‘Loser’ – a self-deprecating earworm featured on Spotify’s New Noise and The Scene playlists that has amassed over 2M streams to date. Their follow-up ‘Bike Ride’ is a shifting track showcasing the band’s songwriting flexibility, released alongside a whimsical and energetic music video. ‘Bike Ride’ was also featured on Spotify’s New Noise and Today’s Indie Rock, as well as Apple’s New In Alternative shortly after its release. Following the release of their newest single “Eleanor’s Detour,” they present a vibrant sound that will certainly captivate your attention. Starting with bright instrumentation leading onto their sweet and luscious vocals they complete the song fully. To explain the track a bit further it was initially written for and inspired by a house-party scene from a friend’s short film, “Lucy”. One of the characters, Alex begins to open up to escapades, exposing herself to vulnerability and ambisexuality, when she meets the radical and daring Lucy. The song follows this theme by describing a night where the protagonist is feeling out of place at a party until they bump into a vivacious extrovert. The pair’s opposing levels of impetuosity and confidence hint at the birth of a mutualistic relationship. As the track progresses, the protagonist, abandoned by their other friends, surrenders to the whims of the chaotic stranger and they find themselves continuing the party out on the street. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you jamming out. Being just great for a late-night drive or hanging out with some friends. Go stream “Eleanor’s Detour” and check out their discography which is filled with astounding tracks.
