Siobamm With Her Fantastic Single “Meat Machine”

Introducing a talented artist known as Siobamm she is a musician, engineer, producer, and roller derby skater from Toronto, Canada. Prior to joining derby, she played in various concert, jazz, and rock bands for ten years. GLOOM PATROL is her first solo project. The record was completely engineered, mixed, and produced solitarily in quarantine. On Gloom Patrol, Siobamm mixes alternative and goth influences with pop melodies and fuzzy guitar riffs. The result is a dark, beautifully vulnerable piece of work that showcases her as an authentic songwriter with a unique sound. Siobamm was first in a recording studio at age 10, to record background vocals for her family’s band – Madd Paddy. “My first time being in a studio was so exciting,” she says. “It’s ironic that I made this all by myself in my bedroom.” As a kid, she would spend her weekends in Irish bars watching Madd Paddy play. “My parents listened to a lot of goth and punk music too, so I would also listen to Bauhaus, Siouxsie Sioux, Green Day, The Clash, R.E.M., and The Pogues.” After the novel coronavirus shut down the world as we knew it, she knew that a return to roller derby would be a long time off, and she had to find an outlet for her energy and time. Siobamm turned her focus to learning how to produce in March 2020, channeling her experiences playing in bands and writing songs for over a decade prior to roller derby. “I’m proud of myself and what I created in a year,” she says. “I’m excited to keep learning and growing in all aspects of music.” With the release of her newest single “Meat Machine”, she presents a splendid sound that will definitely intrigue your ears. Starting with thrilling instrumentation leading onto her sweet and catchy vocals she completes the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it’s about owning her bisexual thirstiness, while also accepting her physical insecurities. The best sex happens when people are vulnerable, so she created a song reflecting on some of her weird body fixations and asking “Who wants to fuck?”. She feels like years of being very forward in gay relationships has made her very blunt and not afraid to ask for what she wants. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have you jamming out. It would be just perfect for a drive during sunset or a day out on the beach. Go stream “Meat Machine” and check out her discography which is filled with sizzling tracks.
