Upcoming artist Lucid Kidd may be…well…a kid, but he is undoubtedly wise beyond his years. And he comes from a part of the world that isn’t typically thought of as a hotbed for young artists creating what he calls “edgy, melodic, urban pop.” Born the day after Christmas in Vilnius, Lithuania, Lucid Kidd discovered his passion for music around age 10, when he started taking guitar lessons and tinkering around on his grandmother’s big piano. “Even though I didn’t really know how to play, music gave me this feeling of freedom – like there were no boundaries,” shares Lucid Kidd. “The sound became pure emotion.” Shortly thereafter, his sister introduced him to the XXXTENTACION song, “Look at Me.” “At first, I didn’t like it,” recalls Lucid Kidd. “But after a couple of listens, I started to catch on, and XXXTENTACION became my favorite artist. His music is what made me want to make my own music.” By the age of 13, he was doing just that – making his own music. Trying his hand to no avail at producing, replicating simple beats, and rapping over his own beats, he eventually pulled out beats from YouTube and started creating songs. It wasn’t long before he was creating three songs every day – recording, mixing, and experimenting all on his own. As Lucid Kidd continued to hone his sound, the young artist slowly gained attention and began collaborating with his friend Lil Skar. The two crafted an entire catalog of music and were soon called on to perform at local bars. Creating a buzz in the local music scene, Kidd and Lil Skar eventually gained support from the most popular rap in Lithuania, Flying Saucer Gang. “The culture is very different in Eastern Europe,” shares Lucid Kidd. “Growing up there allowed me to see the real world and how harsh life can actually be. Especially in winter, Eastern Europe is a very cold, dark, and depressing region which probably fueled my creativity.” Now, Lucid Kidd is primed to introduce his music to the world. With buzzworthy tracks like “Baby” featuring Lil Skar and “452B,” he is confident in taking the step in his career. Following the release of his newest track “Nothing Back” he presents a booming sound that will definitely grasp your attention. Starting with upbeat instrumentation leading onto his smooth and catchy vocals he completes the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it’s about the escape from betrayal. It depicts the vampires as these fake people that are always draining your energy and using you. The song expresses leaving all these vampires behind and finding your own path because walking alone is better than being surrounded by fake people. The music video contains lots of colors which represent the escape from the greyness of fake people and becoming your own colorful individual. To the vocals and production, this single will surely have your head bumping. Being just great for a late-night drive or jamming out with some friends. Go stream “Nothing Back”.
