Introducing an amazing trio known as The Shadowboxers they are an R&B-infused pop ensemble noted for their three-part vocal harmonies and soft rock veneer. Originally a trio formed in 2008 by singer/musicians Adam Hoffman, Matt Lipkins, and Scott Schwartz, all then students at Emory University in Atlanta, they got their first record deal after coming to the attention of the Indigo Girls’ Emily Saliers at a dinner gathering. RCAM Records released the band’s debut LP, the Brady Blade-produced Red Room, in early 2013. In the meantime, they had added bassist Carlos Enamorado and drummer Cole McSween to the official lineup, and later that year, the quintet posted a video cover of Justin Timberlake’s “Pusher Love Girl” on YouTube. It quickly drew praise from the pop superstar himself via Twitter and racked up six-figure views. The group continued to post a series of live cover videos and maintained a dedicated touring schedule while working on new music, and in late 2014, the Shadowboxers announced a decision to relocate to Nashville, where their business teams were based.
