NADIAH Adu-Gyamfi, an English multi-disciplinary artist, singer, and songwriter of Ghanaian descent, has made a remarkable journey in the music industry. Born and raised in New Cross, South-East London, she initially gained fame as MOKO, the lead vocalist on the Top 5 UK Charting single “Count on Me” by Chase & Status. This significant breakthrough paved the way for the release of her ‘Black’ & ‘Gold’ EPs under Virgin/EMI, which garnered support from renowned figures such as Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, and Trip-Hop legend Tricky. The Independent even named Nadiah one of “dance’s new leading ladies.”
After leaving the major label structure, Nadiah co-founded the electronic R&B duo NULA with her musical partner and producer Luke Osborne (Leaps). Together, they released the critically acclaimed body of work ‘Iridescent,’ which received extensive support across the BBC Radio Network, including BBC Radio London, BBC Radio 1, and BBC Radio 1Xtra. Esteemed publications such as Dazed, Interview Mag, Notion, Hunger, Fader, and Love Magazine also praised their music.
Following the disbandment of NULA, Nadiah pursued a solo career and competed in the ITV music game show Walk the Line in December 2021. Her soulful voice and endearing story won the hearts of the British public and earned the support of judges Craig David, Alesha Dixon, and Gary Barlow. British Heritage Muso Joan Armatrading described Nadiah as ‘one of the big singing stars of the future.’
Nadiah’s newest single, “RIDE,” marks an exciting chapter in her career. Recently collaborating with ‘Boy’s a Liar’ PinkPantheress and Ice Spice producer Mura Masa on his single ‘Rise/Gimme,’ Nadiah’s “RIDE” is a futuristic R&B track that reflects her journey into a new phase. Her vocals transport listeners into her unique world, beginning with a soothing, supple oasis that gradually evolves into a hard-hitting emotional groove. With her EP on the horizon, “RIDE” is set to receive its first play on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Future Soul’ show, heralding a new era for this exceptional artist.
