Swedish Pop Sensation Noak Hellsing Drops New EP Featuring “Good News”

Noak Hellsing, the singer-songwriter from Stockholm, has become a notable figure in the Swedish pop scene. With a repertoire that includes hits like “Lost” (2019), “Good Enough” (2020), and “No Love” (2020), Noak has amassed over 28 million streams—a remarkable feat for an artist at the beginning of his career. Raised with a guitar in his arms, it’s no surprise that Noak has a natural talent for crafting pop songs that resonate with a broad audience.

His journey into songwriting was influenced by both modern pop vocalists and older music, showcasing a preference for songs over specific genres. This eclectic taste is evident in his music, which seamlessly blends various influences while maintaining a unique sound. Noak’s passion for music is evident in his every word and note, and his future plans are as ambitious as his current achievements. He aims to avoid confining himself within specific lyrical or musical boundaries, focusing instead on using his music to tell stories and evoke emotions.

Noak’s debut single “Lost” showcased his incredible vocal ability and songwriting talent, gaining significant streaming success. Each new release has unveiled different facets of his artistry. In the spring of 2023, Noak released several new tracks, including “When The Shadows Go Home,” “Die Without Letting You Know,” “Enemy,” and “Get Real,” culminating in the release of his debut EP, YESTERYEAR. This EP garnered attention from notable Swedish cultural critics like Jan Gradvall and Tali da Silva, as well as international recognition from Brit Wonderland Magazine.

In 2024, Noak Hellsing continues to expand his musical horizons with a series of new singles and the much-anticipated launch of his second EP, SHIFT. Scheduled for release Today via TEN Records, SHIFT is a collection of five tracks that highlight Noak’s wide array of influences and impressive vocal range. The EP is led by the focus track “Good News.”

SHIFT traverses genres from soul, disco, and 80s soft rock to Calipop and more experimental sounds, all while maintaining sharp songwriting and a distinct artistic identity. This EP marks another significant milestone for Noak, following his debut EP, YESTERYEAR. This time, he explores new musical territories, blending influences from lo-fi pop, soul, disco, and 80s soft rock.

Noak’s musical explorations are particularly evident in tracks like “All Day” and the EP’s focal point, “Good News,” which carries a Phil Collins-esque vibe. Despite the diverse roots of these songs, Noak remains firmly grounded in each style. Reflecting on the creation of this EP, Noak shares, “A lot has changed in my life in a short period. I’ve been working more abroad and meeting new people. The world is apparently bigger than Stockholm. Looking back at the creation of this EP, I see a happy but confused person who has realized it’s okay not to know exactly what you’re doing. The title sums up a stage in life where I’m heading somewhere without knowing exactly where. Cheers to change!”

This spring, Noak released the singles “Empty the Bags” and “All Day,” and now he presents the full EP, SHIFT. The tracklist includes:

  1. Empty the Bags
  2. Good News
  3. All Day
  4. Tuscan Skies
  5. No Words

Beyond his solo work, Noak has proven his versatility as a songwriter by collaborating with a diverse range of artists, including Aldae, Erik Hassle, Corey Sanders, LIOHN, Siba, Tep No, Michael Calfan, and NCT Dream. Currently, he is engaged in exciting projects with industry heavyweights such as DJ Snake, Armin Van Buuren, Punctual, and Toby Romeo, further demonstrating his ability to adapt and thrive in various musical environments.

Noak Hellsing is undeniably on a fast track to greater success. With his impressive body of work and unwavering passion for music, he continues to captivate audiences and push the boundaries of his artistry. The release of SHIFT is yet another testament to his evolving talent and boundless potential.
